Seattle, Washington

Since the movie "Sleepless in Seattle" at the latest, many people have heard of Seattle in Germany. The 630,000-inhabitant metropolis, which is often described as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, is nicknamed "The Emerald City" (the emerald city) because the entire urban area is crisscrossed with parks and lots of trees like green jewels.

Probably the city's most famous landmark is the Seattle Space Needle, which was built in 1962 for the World's Fair. The 184-meter tower houses America's first "revolving restaurant" and three viewing platforms. The Seattle Space Needle is located on the Seattle Center site, which has other attractions. Among them are e.g. For example, the EMP Museum, which is dedicated to music and modern pop culture, or the Key Arena, which is a popular venue. One of the busiest places in Seattle is the Pike Place Market. For more than 100 years, the historic district has traded goods that have been produced, harvested or caught in the region.

Other attractions include the Microsoft Campus, the downtown district with countless shopping streets, the Boeing factories and the Ballard Locks. Seattle is Washington's cultural and economic hub and offers numerous places to visit.
